The Gay and Lesbian Association of Decatur, Illinois was formed in February of 1993
Monthly socials have been held the second Saturday of each month since 1993. Although all of the original founders of GLAD were gay men, they wanted GLAD to be a diverse goup and inclusive of women.
The GLAD Contstitution urges that there be a balance in the make up of the GLAD Ececutive Bard which oversees the organization.
Participation in GLAD is all about equality between men and women as well as the LGBTQ and Straight community.
